Change of course. China' s economic plan for the next five years has a new and clear priority: achieving self-sufficiency in #technology. Unlike previous five-year plans, this time no economic growth target was announced, a clear signal about China's growth turnaround to analysts.
One of the most important priorities is the development of domestic manufacturing capacity and semiconductor research and innovation, critical elements for technological development.

As part of its trade and technology war with China, #US has limited semiconductor exports to that country. "We think China will allocate a lot of resources-financial and human-focused on clearly identified problems, and many of the priorities have to do with scaling up existing technologies in the country," Andrew Batson, director of research at Gavekal Drganomics, told the New York Times.

The full plan will be published in March #2021.
