The #US president-elect delivered a blow of confidence to markets with the nomination of Janet Yellen, former Federal Reserve Chair, as Treasury Secretary. #Yellen is admired by a broad spectrum of players in the financial markets, from #WallStreet to academia. She has a very strong academic background that she combines with a great sensitivity to the human factor when designing solutions. She was in charge of the Fed since 2014 and had to deal with the hangover from the great recession of 2008.

"The best person for the job at the best time," is the comment most often heard. Yellen is a proponent of implementing strong and decisive fiscal support to recover the economy in #2021 and has excellent negotiating skills, as well as experience and intellectual soundness, to coordinate monetary and fiscal measures with the Fed and Congress.

Another positive sign for navigating a complex 2021 in which the road to recovery is already visible, but full of difficult and treacherous obstacles.
