In a few more days, the Olympic Games in Tokyo will be inaugurated. In connection with this event, we have chosen Japan as the theme for our traditional cultural events.

Magdalena Guzmán, journalist at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and Master in Political Science, took us on a virtual journey through the fascinating history of this Asian country, from the ancient myths on which the imperial institution is based and the various phases of its history to the current modern Japan, so avant-garde, but at the same time so attached to tradition.

This trip through Japan with Magdalena helped us understand the idiosyncrasy of the Japanese people, their particular vision of the world and the reasons why this small archipelago - its territory is half the size of Chile's - has become a global power.
