What is the best (and worst) place to be during the pandemic?

Chile is the best-ranked country in Latin America

In the latest version of Bloomberg’s March ranking, Norway ranks first, followed by the United Arab Emirates, Ireland, and Denmark. In contrast, the three lowest-ranked countries out of the 53 evaluated are Hong Kong, Russia, and Pakistan. And Chile? It ranks 18th, and although it has dropped three spots from the previous ranking, it is the highest-ranked Latin American country.

The ranking takes into account various factors, grouped into three categories: progress toward reopening, the state of the pandemic, and quality of life. Chile ranks highest in vaccination (second only to the United Arab Emirates) and lowest in commercial flight capacity (change over the last four weeks compared to the same period before the pandemic).
