We’ve already covered various aspects of the current boom in electromobility in these newsletters . In that regard, 2022 was an exceptional year for this industry. How much do you think sales of light electric vehicles grew in 2022 compared to the previous year?

55%. In 2022, more than 10 million light-duty electric vehicles were sold worldwide—a 55% increase over 2022 —and a higher volume than all the cars sold in Europe, which totaled 9.5 million—compared with the 3% decline in total global light-duty vehicle sales in 2022. Last year ended with a total fleet of 26 million light-duty electric vehicles, 60% more than the number recorded in 2021, according to the International Energy Agency (IEA).
