How much does the electric F-150 cost?

The pros and cons of the new EV star in the US

Ford will begin delivery of the electric version of the F-150 light truck or pickup, the F-150 Lightning, which promises to revolutionize the work vehicle market in US. Ford has received orders for 200,000 units of the new EV, which is posing significant challenges in terms of charging infrastructure for the growing fleet of electric vehicles in the country.

One of the attractions of the F-150 Lightning is its low operating cost. The unit price remains higher (between $39,974 for the basic model and $90,874 for the most expensive) than that of the internal combustion (which starts at $29,990 and ending at US$74,335), but the maintenance cost is 40% lower, according to the consulting firm ICF

And the fuel cost, not to mention: for a standard usage of 12,000 miles per year and considering the variations in gasoline and electricity prices between different states, the Lightning's annual electricity cost is in the range of $414 to $993, compared to a range of US$1,691 to US$2,683 for internal combustion models. It's no wonder companies are eager to equip their fleets with electric versions of the F-150.

Ford's F-Series has been the best-selling pickup truck in the US market for 45 consecutive years.
