With the end of the pandemic in sight in the US, Walmart, the world's largest retailer, is relaunching a novel food delivery plan for its customers that began in some US cities in late 2019, called InHome. This delivery service goes a step beyond the traditional: a Walmart employee brings the order to the customer's home and places it in their refrigerator. The service is designed for people who cannot be at home to wait for deliveries. With the return to normality in a market that saw an increase in online shopping habits during the pandemic, WalMart is betting that the service, which costs $19.95 per month, will be in greater demand. However, they will first have to overcome mistrust: 90% of those surveyed in a study said they are not willing to adopt this type of service, even though it can be monitored remotely by customers. Walmart is the leader in the US grocery delivery market, which is worth US$1.8 trillion (million million) a year.
