Delivery, one step further

WalMart brings the delivery boy to your refrigerator door, literally.

With the beginning of the end of the pandemic in sight in the U.S. WalMart, the world's largest retailer is rebooting a novel food delivery plan for its customers launched in some U.S. cities in late 2019, the InHome. This delivery service goes a step beyond the traditional one: a WalMart employee takes the order to the customer's home and arranges it in the customer's refrigerator. The service is designed for people who cannot be at home waiting for deliveries. With the return to normality in a market that, with the pandemic, increased its online shopping habits, WalMart is betting that the service - which costs US$19.95 a month - will be in greater demand. But first they will have to break down distrust: 90% of the people surveyed in a study indicated that they are not willing to adopt this type of service, even though it can be monitored remotely by customers. WalMart is the leader in the U.S. grocery delivery market, which totals US$1.8 billion (millions of millions) a year.
