Jeff Bezos, the founder and CEO of Amazon, is preparing to travel to space next month. But that's not all. Bezos will also take an important step on July 5: he will step down as CEO of Amazon, a position that will be taken over by Andy Jassy, the current CEO of Amazon Web Services, the company's successful cloud services business. Bezos is leaving Jassy in charge of a very different company than the one he founded in 1994. In addition to its organic growth, Amazon has made significant acquisitions, allowing it to become the second-largest company by sales in the U.S. and ninth in the world.
