Pets are entering the digital world. Pawiis, a Chilean startup, saw an opportunity in the pet care industry and created a management platform for professionals in this field—such as veterinarians and groomers—who can use it to automate their operations. Pawiis also functions as a marketplace where consumers can purchase products prescribed or recommended by professionals online, ranging from medications to pet food.

The company, which has received capital contributions from angel investors and Corfo's Ignite accelerator, has closed a new round of funding to prepare for its entry into the Peruvian market.
