What is the Constituent Convention up to?

As part of the consultation and citizen participation activities, a web page has been set up to propose topics to be discussed for the new Constitution.

This week FYNSA organized a webinar with the Constituent Bernardo Fontaine to learn more about the constituent process that Chile is going through. It is good to highlight that, once the board of directors that will govern the Convention in its last 6 months has been elected, the work of definitions and voting of norms and articles begins now.

For this purpose, and as part of the consultation and citizen participation activities, a web page has been set up called: "Iniciativa Popular de Norma", which corresponds to the suggestion of a formal text that, with the support of 15,000 signatures, may be discussed and voted directly by the Constitutional Convention.

In it, citizens can enter an initiative, and after being analyzed and admitted, it can be disseminated to gather the necessary support and thus can be part of the construction of the new constitution. Everyone can support those initiatives they consider relevant, for which you have up to 7 supports available.

Among the initiatives being discussed concerning the capital markets are:

-With My Money No: protects private ownership of pension savings and future contributions and that the funds be inheritable; freedom of choice of administrator (public or private); equal pensions for men and women given equal savings; and a universal basic pension financed by general taxation.

-Emprende Libre: To guarantee the freedom of entrepreneurship and highlight the value and contribution of free initiative and individual and collective entrepreneurship for the growth of companies, the sustainable development of the country and the welfare of its citizens.

-Autonomous Central Bank: aims for the autonomy of the Central Bank to be guaranteed in the Constitution, with clear and defined objectives: the stability of the currency and the normal functioning of internal and external payments, in addition to guaranteeing "political independence" in the appointment and removal of the same.

We are all invited to participate with our support and suggestions in this platform of initiatives.
