The crisis in Afghanistan following the withdrawal of US troops has only deepened this week, creating a major humanitarian drama and opening up important questions about its geopolitical implications.

To analyze what is happening there and future scenarios, FYNSA held a webinar with Paulo Botta, director of the Executive Program on the Contemporary Middle East at the Catholic University of Argentina, and moderated by Jorge Sahd, director of the Center for International Studies at the Catholic University of Chile.

What is the logic behind the US withdrawal from Afghanistan? What are the main concerns of Putin's Russia in the face of the Afghan chaos? And what about China, eager for Afghanistan's natural resources, such as lithium, and in need of a stability that it sees fading away in a key region for the consolidation of its large and strategic Belt and Road Initiative trade and logistics project?

These are some of the topics covered in this interesting and current webinar, we invite you to subscribe to our Youtube channel to watch the full event.
