The first six months of the year are over, a traditional milestone for the accounting of markets and companies. After these first six months, which company is the largest in Latin America in terms of market capitalization?

 

ANSWER

 

Petrobras. The Brazilian state-owned oil company, which is listed on the New York, Madrid and Brazilian B3 stock exchanges, ranks first, with US$86.113 billion as of June 30. It is followed by the retailer Walmart de México (Walmex), with US$68,815 million, and the telecommunications company América Móvil. In the top 10 most valuable companies, two companies of the new economy stand out, the e-commerce giant MercadoLibre and Nu Holdings, parent company of Nubank, the largest digital bank in Latin America.
