Fintech companies are among the most numerous tech startups in recent years. The global fintech market is estimated to reach a value of US$320,000 million this year.

In this expanding industry, what are the best cities to launch a fintech company? According to the Fintech Global Index compiled by Findexable, a research and analytics firm, San Francisco is the best city to launch a fintech company, followed by London and New York. Fourth place goes to a Latin American city, São Paulo, which by far tops the list of the best cities in the region. Within Latin America, following the Brazilian city are Montevideo, ranked 44th globally, and Mexico City, ranked 48th. Santiago ranks 80th.
