Share

The pandemic caused significant changes in the labor market, particularly affecting women's employment.

ANSWER

Rwanda, with 83%. World Bank statistics show the low correlation between GDP per capita or human development index and women's participation. The figures seem to indicate that economic needs are one of the main drivers of female participation in the labor market, although the relationship is not direct. Of the 10 countries with the highest female participation in the labor market, six are in Africa, three are in Asia, and one is in Oceania. In Latin America, Peru and Bolivia are the countries with the highest participation, at 51%.
