The European Union. Cars manufactured in the EU accounted for nearly half (46%) of global automobile exports by FOB value in 2022. It is followed by the United States, Japan, and Mexico. Although China is by far the world’s largest vehicle manufacturer, with 27.2 million units in 2022, it has a massive domestic market—the largest in the world—and therefore ranks fifth as a vehicle exporter.
