ArcomedLab, a Chilean healthtech company that developed technology to 3D-print synthetic craniofacial implants, is planning to enter the Japanese market. The company, founded by dentist Marcos Skarmeta and prosthodontist Ilan Rosenberg in 2018, has developed a unique technique in which they use a 3D scanner to generate an image that they then use to design and print customized implants on a 3D printer.

This technology significantly reduces the cost of the implants and the time it takes for them to become available. The startup has already installed more than 400 implants in Chile, Mexico, Brazil, Peru, Argentina, and Spain. Its plan is now to expand into Japan.
