The Ganesha Lab is an accelerator for biotechnology-based ventures in Latin America. On November 9 and 10, they held the BioHunt Summit in Miami, a meeting between investors and startups. in which 25 biotechnology companies participated, which were previously selected from among more than 250 applicants.

The summit was attended by Venture Capital funds from the region (Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, United States), angel investors, mainly from the state of Florida, as well as important specialized partners such as Massachusetts Life Science Center and Thermo Fisher Scientific, among others.angel investors, mainly from the state of Florida, as well as important specialized partners such as the Massachusetts Life Science Center and Thermo Fisher Scientific, among others.

There were four interesting panels where they talked about the mega trends that these startups are looking to solve:

  1. Emerging Threats
  2. Food Scarcity
  3. Aging Population and Chronic Diseases
  4. Healthcare Access

One on one meetings were held with the idea of bringing entrepreneurs closer to investors to learn more details and delve into particular aspects of potential investments in the respective startups.

The objective of these meetings is to facilitate impact investments in ventures that seek to generate change through biotechnology, with cases ranging from the early detection of diseases to solutions to stop the inflammation of cancer cells, through chromosome studies for the early detection of pathologies or the design of insoles through algorithms using artificial intelligence, based on biomechanical studies.
