We are in the midst of COP-27, and environmental issues are among the top topics of discussion these days. Not all the news has been encouraging, but some stories do give cause for optimism, such as the growth of renewable energy. The International Energy Agency (IEA) estimates that renewable electricity generation capacity will grow by 8% this year, following a 6% increase in 2021.

ANSWER

China. With 930 GW of installed renewable energy capacity as of 2020, it ranks first, nearly tripling the capacity of the United States, which ranks second with 315 GW, according to data from IRENA, the International Renewable Energy Agency. Brazil, with 150 GW installed, ranks third and is the only Latin American country in the top ten.
