Generative artificial intelligence fever is only heating up. User enthusiasm is only growing, as are the expectations of technology companies to generate new lines of revenue and their promises to automate more and more functions, both in the production and consumer worlds.

Along these lines, there is the growth of patent applications. In fact, according to the World Intellectual Property Organization, the number of patent families (groups of patents linked to the same invention or technology) related to generative AI jumped from 733 in 2014 to more than 14 thousand in 2023. What is interesting is that, in this race, Chinese companies are taking the lead: led by Tencent, mistress and mistress of video games in the global market and anything that smacks of the internet in China, and insurance and financial services conglomerate Pinganone of the top 50 companies on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
