Amazon chooses Chile as its digital base for Latin America

The investment will be executed over 15 years and will drive innovation, digital training, talent development and economic development.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has just put Chile on the digital map of Latin America with a historic investment of US$ 4 billion. US$ 4 billionunder the name of "Project Pablo -in honor of the poet Pablo Neruda, aimed at building a new region of infrastructure infrastructure region, which will include at leastinfrastructure region, which will include at least three data centers in Santiago. It will be the third AWS region in Latin America - after Brazil and Mexico - and promises to transform the country's technology ecosystem.

The new infrastructure will be operational in 2026 and will make it possible to offer faster, more secure and efficient cloud services to customers throughout the continent. But this commitment goes beyond the servers: the project seeks to boost technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learningin addition to promoting the development of local talent through digital training programs.

AWS presented this initiative as part of its global expansion strategy. Far from being just one more point in its network, this region will be a strategic strategic platform to meet the growing technological demand in Latin America. With this, Chile is emerging as a hub digital hubwith the capacity to attract investment, generate qualified employment and strengthen its innovation ecosystem.

This announcement marks a milestone for the country: not only does it reinforce its role as a relevant player in the technological field, but it also opens up concrete opportunities for its long-term economic and digital development.
