In a face-to-face meeting organized by Fynsa, our clients had the opportunity to listen to Cristián Donoso, partner of Fynsa, and Ignacio Briones, economist, former Minister of Finance and president of the Horizontal think tank, who addressed the current market challenges and the opportunities that emerge in highly volatile scenarios.
Cristián Donoso opened the day with a clear message: uncertainty is the new baseline stateIn this context, private debt emerges as a solid alternative. In his speech he emphasized that this asset class contains a rigorous risk analysis, with real guarantees and attractive returns.
He also recalled that Fynsa Administradora General de Fondos has a consolidated track record in private debt: we have been structuring quality private credit for more than a decade and meeting the target returns.
Ignacio Briones then analyzed the national economic outlook. From a critical but optimistic approach, he called for overcoming the short-termism that predominates in public discussion, and pointed out that while there is a climate of pessimism within the country, the perception of Chile from abroad is much more favorable.
Although he acknowledged signs of stagnation in growth, productivity and investment, he also identified grounds for a positive turnaround: progress in pension reform, a resilient institutional framework, greater fiscal awareness and a renewed political consensus on the urgency to grow, reduce permissiveness, review the corporate tax burden and strengthen security. According to Briones, Chile has a concrete opportunity today to emerge from stagnation and activate a cycle of structural growth, provided that it manages to articulate a common and sustained roadmap over time.
The conclusion of the event was clear: despite the challenges, there are real conditions to reactivate growth if a pro-investment agenda is consolidated, combining instruments such as private debt with structural reforms that boost productivity, savings and long-term stability.
