Latin America is going through a vibrant stage in the development of its entrepreneurial ecosystem, marked by the emergence of startups that are breaking barriers, developing cutting-edge technologies and addressing social and economic problems from innovative perspectives.

In this sense, Chile has managed to consolidate itself as a regional benchmark thanks to its focus on advanced public policies, the implementation of programs to support entrepreneurship and the creation of international events that connect talent with opportunities.

The country has benefited not only from its solid infrastructure and economic stability, but also from a growing entrepreneurial culture that is nurtured by initiatives in the public and private sectors. This has allowed local entrepreneurs to find an environment conducive to innovation and expansion, while at the same time attracting the attention of foreign investors.

Catalyzing and connecting ideas

For the fourth consecutive year, a new version of the International Meeting on Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Investment -EtMday 2024-will be held, an opportunity for startups, consolidated companies, investors and regional and global innovation leaders to interact and connect common goals.

"This event seeks to be a virtuous meeting that connects the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem of Chile and Latin America, highlighting entrepreneurship as a key tool for social and economic development, and an engine of social mobility," emphasizes Daniel Daccarett, entrepreneur, businessman and co-founder of EtMday.

He adds that "it is essential to generate a robust ecosystem where the state and the private sector work together to strengthen entrepreneurship in all its stages. Events such as EtMday facilitate interaction between organizations and foster synergy between innovation and the corporate world".

In the coming years, the future of startups in Chile looks very promising, according to Daccarett. "This understanding will lead to greater collaboration between large companies and startups, (...) as they are evolving towards sustainable and profitable business models. Instead of prioritizing the attraction of large investments, the ability to generate cash flow and build market propositions that offer a tangible and relevant impact on society will be increasingly valued. This transition promises to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem and its contribution to the country's economic and social development".

For this reason, events such as EtMday are especially important, as they provide access to networking spaces and networking with national and international entities to develop solutions that improve connectivity, communication and entrepreneurship.

Contributing to sustainable development

Sustainability, technology and finance are some of the business areas that are expected to be promoted, in addition to generating direct impact on entrepreneurs, facilitating access to mentors, investors and potential business partners. This puts Chile on the map as a hub of innovation, where the exchange of knowledge and resources between key actors is encouraged.

Among the more than 45,000 attendees expected for the three-day event (November 21-23) is Galgo, a leading Fintech that offers financial solutions for motorcycle purchases, focusing on unbanked populations.

Founded in Chile, Galgo has already expanded to four Latin American countries, standing out for its innovative approach and its ability to adapt to the needs of its clients.

Galgo's participation in EtMday 2024 not only highlights its commitment to innovation, but also its role as a key player in promoting financial inclusion in the region. The company is a tangible example of how entrepreneurship can have a positive impact on underserved communities.
