Wing LLC is a subsidiary of Alphabet, Google's parent company.Google's parent company, dedicated to the development of drones for product deliveries, and has accumulated hundreds of thousands of delivery hours with a drone model, the Hummingbird, operating in Dallas and in cities in Australia y Finland and is capable of carrying loads of just under one kilogram. In mid-July, Wing unveiled its strategic vision for moving forward with its drone delivery solutions: a "library" of flying devices.

The solution is to have a broad menu of components - all based on the Hummingbird - so that its engineers can quickly design a model to fit the needs. The company presented two examples. One is a very small drone for delivering small packages, such as a medicine bottle. The other is designed to carry packages weighing up to almost 3 kilograms.

The basic principle is efficiency. The most efficient ratio in the case of drones such as Wing's is that cargo accounts for about 25% of the drone's mass. In the case of automobiles - the most widely used means of package delivery in the U.S. - the payload often represents only 0.1% of the vehicle's mass.

Wing has several types of adaptations in mind, from drones to deliver small packages in densely populated areas, to long-range drones for logistics flights.from drones to deliver small packages in densely populated areas, to long-range drones for logistics flights.
